Hammered Dulcimer
A bit about me and my music
Anchor 1
I began playing the hammered dulcimer in the 1980s. The music I play is traditional folk music; music from international traditions, primarily American and Celtic. I've played in various contra dance, English country dance and performance bands in the greater Boston area where I live currently, and in Northeast Ohio where I previously resided. I perform solo, with other instrumentalists and frequently with my musical partner (Lucy Joan Sollogub) for private and public events or as background music. I have written a book of my own dance music ("Buffalo Stage Road"), featuring waltzes, reels and jigs.

Hammered
Dulcimer
I have been playing with my musical partner, fretted dulcimist Lucy Joan Sollogub, since 2001. We play a blend of traditional music from around the world, primarily North America, Canada, the British Isles and Israel, along with a smattering of original compositions. We have frequently played concerts at the New England Folk Festival (NEFFA) and have been hired for various private events and performances.

Folk Music
and
Dance
I have been actively involved in folk music and dance since the 1970s. Always a "folkie", my love of traditional music was enhanced when I began recreational folk and contra dancing in the 1970s - which I still enjoy! I was a member of two Israeli folkdance performing groups, performing in Israeli dance festivals around the country and assisting with choreography. I was also a founding member of "Folknet", the folk music and dance society of Northeast Ohio.
